Packard Proving Grounds Open House and Packard Grill Dinner

Cruise Night

We had an eight car caravan from the Elks Lodge to the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Township where we had premium parking for a nice day (no rain) to visit this great historic site.  When taking the tour of the museum we found that the Proving Ground facility was built in 1927. It was designed by Albert Kahn and was so far from Detroit that the test cars were shipped by rail and the Test Engineers came for weeks at a time and stayed in dorm rooms in the main building. Thanks to Jim and Nancy for setting up this very interesting Dinner Cruise - Tom G.
